Even before its premiere, Akshay Kumar’s eagerly awaited historical courtroom drama Kesari 2 is creating quite a stir. Will the movie, however, put a stop to the actor’s run of failures? The film’s makers began advance sales a few hours ago, and in the short time since, they have already made Rs 12.65 lakh. The film also has Ananya Panday and R Madhavan in important parts. Over the next three days, the movie will increase its opening figures.

In just a few hours after its advance booking went live, Kesari Chapter 2 sold 4,034 tickets, bringing in Rs 12.65 lakh, according to the website Sacnilk. But if we also take block bookings into account, the movie made Rs 1.02 crore and sold 1,02,197 seats in the same time frame. For comparison, Sikandar earned Rs 10.08 crore and Chhaava made Rs 13.85 crore. Both contain block bookings, in which actors, producers, or other parties connected to them buy a sizable portion of the tickets for their own films.

There are presently 1,969 performances of Kesari 2 nationwide. The movie made Rs 3.54 lakh in advance bookings in the NCR, where it has 265 showings, compared to Rs 1.48 lakh in Mumbai. The movie made Rs 54.37K in advance ticket sales in Punjab, and Bengaluru also contributed Rs 1.48 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently gave Kesari 2 particular recognition, recalling the legacy of statesman and lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, whose life the movie is based on.During a special screening in Delhi, the film was hailed by prominent politicians, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Minister Anurag Thakur.

Kesari 2 is a spiritual follow-up to Kesari (2019), which was both critically and financially successful, earning Rs 207.09 crore at the box office. It now wants to put a stop to Akshay’s difficult run at the box office. The actor’s previous leading parts in movies like Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, Khel Khel Mein, and Sky Force did not do well at the box office.
