Abdul Furqan, a brilliant 9th-class student from Hathnoora village in Sangareddy District, Telangana, has brought international recognition to India by participating in the esteemed NASA International Space Development Conference (ISDC) 2023, held in Dallas, USA.

A proud student of the 2023 batch at Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Kompally, Furqan was officially invited to present his original space project titled ELYSIUM. Competing with young innovators from around the world, his project stood out for its creativity and vision, earning him a special award and certificate. At just 13, he became the youngest Indian to receive such an honor at the global event.

NSS Space Ambassador Avinash Shinde, who attended the conference, praised Abdul’s innovative spirit and scientific thinking, calling him a promising mind for the future of space research.

However, Abdul’s journey was not without hardship. With no sponsorship or institutional backing, his father, Abdul Waheed, spent several lakhs of rupees from personal savings to ensure his son could attend the event. In light of his son’s achievements, he now appeals to the Government of Telangana and the Government of India to recognize Abdul’s talent and extend financial assistance to support his future in science and innovation.

Furqan’s success story is a testament to the hidden potential in India’s rural heartlands. With proper support and investment, young innovators like him can lead the nation to new scientific frontiers. His family hopes this achievement will not only inspire other aspiring students but also encourage policymakers to nurture and empower exceptional talent from every corner of the country.
