A 22-year-old was tricked into marrying the mother of a 45-year-old bride in Uttar Pradesh.

According to authorities on Saturday, a guy was deceived into marrying his 21-year-old bride’s mother here.

The complainant, 22-year-old Mohammad Azeem of Brahmapuri, Meerut, said that his brother Nadeem and his wife Shaida had arranged for him to marry Mantasha from Shamli district.

The bride was addressed to as Tahira by the Maulvi at the March 31 wedding ceremony. When he lifted the veil, he found that, contrary to what the police reported, Mantasha’s 45-year-old widowed mother had married him while posing as a bride.

During the event, he said, Rs 5 lakh was exchanged.

Azeem informed the police that his brother and sister-in-law threatened to falsely accuse him of rape when he voiced his opposition to the scam.

According to police, he then lodged a complaint on Thursday.

According to CO Brahmapuri Saumya Asthana, “The parties involved have achieved a settlement. Azeem has stated that he does not currently want to take any legal action and has withdrawn his complaint.
